Critical and Intersectional Approaches of Non-Human Animal Exploitation

A two-day workshop is being organized as part of the HACAB project, a multi-disciplinary project (sociology, anthropology, communication studies) whose starting point is the following question : is it possible, in the age of global warming, to help build political collectives that include all the subaltern beings who are its main victims?
How should one frame alliances between human and non-human animals in the struggle for justice ? What theoretical tools from past critical approaches should be used again today ? And is it even possible that humans become actual allies for non-humans, or are their interests too far apart ? Last, not least : what is or should be the role of theory, scientific research or scholarship in the human engagement for non-human animals ?
Searching for answers to these questions, the HACAB project team (more info on this project here) is very happy to invite you to a two-day workshop (June 12 and 13). We are sure that the talks will generate fascinating discussions on critical and intersectional approaches of non-human animal exploitation.

Practical information
The whole workshop will be held online, as this research field is mainly international ; we will do our best to accommodate all time zones. For those who cannot attend to the two days, a summary of interventions and discussions will be sent after the event.
